10:15 Service in the Church

Following the latest guidance from the government and Church of England we will hold a 10:15 Sunday service in the church building.

We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure that the church will be a safe space for everyone who would like to come along (particular thanks should go to Keith Brooker who has been working very hard on this). As well as conducting an internal risk assessment, for extra piece of mind, we have also had a second external risk assessment conducted from Red Cat Partnership Health and Safety Consultants (who also conducted the risk assessment for Norwich Cathedral). The recommendations for both assessments will be carried out fully.

As a result, things will obviously look a little different to usual so we thought we would share with you some of key changes and information you might like to know before coming to church:

- Please wash your hands before visiting the church, and then again on returning home. Hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes will be available in the church.

- Two-meter social distancing will be observed at all times.

- Please do think about arriving a little earlier than usual to give us extra time to seat everybody safely.

- Aylsham Parish Church is a very large building which can seat over one hundred people at two meters apart (household and bubble groups can sit together). As such, we should be able to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend our services there is no need to pre-book.

- There will be no congregational singing at present but we will be using other music in a variety of creative ways to enrich our worship.

- Please do wear face coverings if you wish but this is voluntary.

- Service sheets have all been laid out over 72 hours in advance to avoid any possibility of paper transmission.

- The toilet will be open with extra cleaning in place.

- Extra-stewards will be present at our services to assist you and answer any questions you might have.

- Suitable and safe activities for children and young people will be available each week.

For those of you who are interested in the detail please see the links below for more detailed advice from our Churchwarden Keith Brooker, as well as, our Risk Assessment and Health and Safety Policy/Procedures from the Red Cat Partnership.

As I hope is abundantly clear we are putting your safety first in all we do.

If you have any other questions, or would like to talk about anything at all, please do get in touch.
